One of the most monumental days of our lives is our wedding day. Not only is the day itself magical but the time surrounding it is as well. I found that the preparation and many of the traditions were just as exciting as the wedding itself. There was something very special about the process of preparation, with our friends and our family.
This past summer, I was lucky enough to be a part of a group of girls planning an intimate bridal shower for our dear friend. Typically held a few weeks before the wedding, the bridal shower is a sweet get together for the bride and her closest friends to reminisce and celebrate the exciting time for the bride-to-be.
Starting out in the planning process, we wanted something feminine but sophisticated and knew that the running theme throughout would definitely be Vintage. The guest of honor Colette collects all thing vintage- clothing, cars, jewelry, furniture. We loved the vibe and ran with it.
Hosted in one of our backyards, we used vintage linens, plates, silverware and glassware passed down from family. We even hung old images on the exterior of the home. We kept the floral arrangements seasonally and natural.
Floral arrangements were hand-crafted by us using an array of vintage vases we'd collected & inherited over the years.
Party favors were vintage linen handkerchiefs wrapped in a card that was to be mailed to the bride with a sweet message.
Antique dish ware, stemware and flatware are all part of a collection one of us had passed down to her for generations.
As part of the spread we made chicken tarragon salad in lettuce cups , so good!
An incredible cheese plate of cowgirl creamery cheeses.
We greeted the guests with Strawberry mimosas, beautiful & tasty.
We kept our guest in the dark on the details, I'd say she was very surprised!
