Hello! I have to say it feels great to get back to blogging again. We had a wonderful vacation and I am feeling refreshed and ready to go for the new year. There are some exciting things in store for 2014 and I can't wait to share them with you. I have a feeling this year is going to be even bigger and better!
Today I'm sharing with you my feature in Houzz on how to hang a family gallery wall. The article was featured yesterday and you can read it here. I am so excited to be featured and share my gallery wall tips with others! Working with mothers, I get asked often how to incorporate family photos into the home. My answer is always a gallery wall! They are a great way to display favorite images of family and it is super easy to switch out images as families grow.
The first thing is decide where you want to hang your gallery wall. I prefer to keep them in private areas such as a hallway or bedroom. Next, decide if you want your gallery wall a grid or an asymmetrical design. The key here is uniting images with one common element. In the example above I chose the same color frames to keep things harmonized. When hanging photos, I use a simple trick. “I arrange the photos on a big sheet of kraft paper. When I have them as I want them, I trace them. I tape the paper to the wall with painter’s tape and use a nail to mark the spot where I want to place my hangers. I take the paper down and nail the hangers into the wall. It works great!”
