Heavy Metal

I was recently asked what my favorite metal finish was.  Like any other trend, metal finishes come and go.  I've been seeing a lot more gold showing up in interiors and fashion as well. Currently my favorite metal is rose gold. The bow ring is adorbs!  I would love to see more of this pop up in Interior finishes!  A rose gold pendant light... yes, please!

One Kings Lane is one of my favorite websites to visit for a wide array of decor and furniture. I love that it's a one-stop shop with something for everyone, and I'm constantly learning about new brands. With spring around the corner, I created a board with some of my favorite items from One Kings Lane in none other than the color, radiant orchid. Aside from being named the color of the year, I'm a huge fan of the color myself and think it's the perfect color for spring decorating!

Love is in the Air

It's the season of love!  I hope you aren't tired of all the DIY Valentine's craft ideas or sweets inundating your desktop. Valentine's Day has a new meaning to us since we moved to Sonoma last year on V-Day. It's become more of a celebration of our family in our new home and not so much a mushy holiday with hearts and romance. With that said, I am still a sucker for fun color schemes and love the combination of Red + Pink. They are great colors to brighten up a room and make it feel cheerful.  Whether you like an entire room covered in pink or just a small dose, here are some inspiration photos to spice up your home!

Best of Houzz 2014 | Customer Satisfaction

interior designer san francsisco, bathroom inspiration

A couple months ago I was interviewed for an article on Houzz sharing my tips on how to hang a family photo wall.  Houzz is such a great place full of inspiration from fantastic designers, I was so honored when they notified me this week that I was voted Best of Houzz  2014 for Customer Satisfaction by the community!  Awards are based off client reviews and other factors relating to my profile. Last year I was voted Best of Houzz in Design, so I am so excited to share both awards from the community. Thank you for all your support!

Ruby's Girly Bedroom

I am so excited to share today's post with you!  After completing this project in San Francisco, the last room to tackle was the family's 4 year old daughter's room.   We had decorated every inch of the home except Ruby's room.  After some hesitation, she was finally ready to move into a new space once she realized what the end result would be.
Her mom decided to show her my various design lookbooks until she was really drawn to a particalr color combination and style.  Upon seeing the ideas of the yellow headboard, pink walls with pops of fushia, she was sold!
We haven't shot the room professionally yet, but here are a few snapshots.

For the dresser, we tackled a DIY project, turning a basic white dresser into a unique and customized piece! We found overlays for an affordable price, spray painted them pink, applied adhesive to the back, and adhered them to the dresser. It is such an easy and affordable project that even the kids can help you complete! The overall room turned out wonderful and Ruby absolutely loves it.  She was in awe when she saw her new room!
